Heritage Day: Soldiers’ Humour at the Trench of Death
On Heritage Day, the Trench of Death comes to life, offering a unique insight into soldiers’ humour at the front. Step back in time and discover how Belgian and German soldiers, even in difficult circumstances, found moments of humour. Re-enactors bring the past to life and invite visitors to actively experience it.
There is also plenty for children to discover, including a creative craft activity. A perfect family outing for all ages!
New from Heritage Day on Sunday 26 April!
For our young visitors, we are launching two child-friendly experiences: a family app within the ErfgoedApp, allowing children to discover the Trench of Death in an interactive way, and a new activity booklet, “De brieven van Jan / Les lettres de Jean”, for those who do not use the app (available in Dutch and French only).
